Sensory Circuits

Commonly used in schools, sensory circuits are a great way in supporting a child's sensory diet, helping to regulate levels of alertness and readiness for learning. 

 

The circuits are a structured series of physical exercises, carefully chosen to target different sensory systems within the body, mainly the vestibular (balance and coordination), proprioceptive (sense of self-movement and force) and tactile (touch sensations).

During our holiday activity days, we start each morning and afternoon with a sensory circuit, preparing the children's bodies and minds for the exercise and learning sessions ahead.

Adding a simple circuit(s) into parts of your child's day may help to prepare them for activities they need to complete.

The circuits are organised into 3 different sections: ​
